All In: A Call to Action for Our Profession 

At the recent Georgia Athletic Directors Association Conference, I had the opportunity to share a message that continues to resonate deeply with me, and I hope it does with each of you as well. 

The message was simple, yet powerful: We must be ALL IN. 

Being “All In” is more than a slogan. It is a commitment to excellence in everything we do as athletic administrators. It means showing up fully, not just when it’s convenient, but especially when it’s challenging. 

What Does “All In” Mean? Being ALL IN requires us to: 

• Lead with Purpose – Every decision we make impacts student-athletes, coaches, and communities. Intentional leadership matters. 
• Commit to Growth – Embrace professional development through organizations like the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association and GADA. 
• Support Each Other – Collaboration strengthens our profession. We are better together than we are apart. 
• Uphold Standards – Stewardship, scholarship, and sportsmanship must remain at the core of our work. 
• Be Present – In our schools, at events, and in our relationships, our presence sets the tone. 

Why This Matters Now 

The landscape of education-based athletics continues to evolve. Challenges around staffing, student engagement, community expectations, and resources require us to operate at a higher level than ever before.  We cannot afford to be partially committed.  Our student-athletes deserve leaders who are fully invested in their success, not just on the field, but in life. 

A Challenge to Our Membership 

I challenge every member of GADA to reflect: 

• Are you ALL IN for your program? 
• Are you ALL IN for your coaches? 
• Are you ALL IN for your student-athletes? 
• Are you ALL IN for this profession? 

Being ALL IN doesn’t mean being perfect; it means being intentional, accountable, and committed to continuous improvement. 

Moving Forward Together 

As we continue this year, let’s recommit ourselves to the mission of educational athletics. Let’s raise the standard. Let’s lead with clarity and conviction. 

Most importantly, let’s be ALL IN, together.
